Sharing Knowledge, Building Networks, Towards the Future
Comparative study has long been an effective way for student organizations to broaden their horizons, deepen their understanding, and strengthen relationships with similar organizations elsewhere. In a strong spirit of collaboration, the Information Systems and Technology Education Study Program Student Association (HIMA PSTI) from the Indonesian Education University Campus in Purwakarta chose to move forward by holding a comparative study with the Student Association Informatics (HMIF) from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).
This comparative study activity, initiated by HIMA PSTI, is an important step in increasing the capacity and quality of organizational management. With the theme "Moving Forward with Collaboration", this activity aims to deepen understanding of various aspects of student organization management. Starting from financial management to marketing strategy, participants hope to gain deeper insight and practical solutions that can be applied in the management of HIMA PSTI in the future.
The comparative study trip began with a visit to the ITB campus, where HIMA PSTI members were warmly welcomed by HMIF ITB members. For one full day, they were involved in a series of activities specifically designed to support the exchange of knowledge and experience between organizations. Exposures between associations, Forum Group Discussions (FGD), and campus tours.
One of the most memorable moments was during the experience exchange session between the HIMA PSTI and HMIF administrators. Here they share the challenges they face in managing the organization, as well as the strategies they have implemented to overcome them. This inspiring discussion not only increased understanding of the dynamics of student organizations, but also strengthened friendships between associations.
Apart from the managerial aspect, this comparative study also provides an opportunity for HIMA PSTI members to explore various academic and non-academic initiatives that have been carried out by HMIF ITB. They gain valuable insight into research projects, technology competitions, and skills development programs that have been successfully implemented by HMIF ITB.
The innovative spirit and commitment to contribute to technological and societal progress that can be seen in every HMIF ITB activity is an inspiration for HIMA PSTI members to continue moving forward.
After returning from this comparative study trip, HIMA PSTI members returned with new enthusiasm. They not only bring home new knowledge and insights, but also expanded networks and valuable experience in collaborating with similar organizations. This step proves that cross-campus collaboration is not only about expanding networks, but also about enriching oneself through the exchange of ideas and experiences.
Thus, through this comparative study, HIMA PSTI has confirmed its commitment to continue moving forward with collaboration. They believe that together, through strong collaboration and continuous knowledge exchange, they can achieve more in developing student organizations and contribute to nation-building through innovation and technology.
