Purwakarta, 10 September 2024 – The Educational Information Systems Study Program (PSTI) of the Indonesian Education University (UPI) is again holding competency certification for active students. This certification, in collaboration with LSP P1 UPI and the third party LSP Media Informatics from Bekasi, is a strategic step to measure students' abilities in facing post-graduate challenges. This activity is funded by the RKAT Fund of the UPI Vice Chancellor for Education and Student Affairs. This certification aims to recognize the competencies possessed by students and is important to support their careers in the industrial world.

This certification activity was attended by PSTI students from the classes of 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, who are still actively studying. The activities will take place over four days, from 9 to 12 September 2024 at the UPI Purwakarta Campus. The activity begins with a bold pre-assessment on Monday, September 9 2024, followed by a competency test over the next three days. This certification is funded by RKAT Funds from the Vice Chancellor for Education and Student Affairs at UPI.

On the day of the competency test, September 10 2024, the activity will be held in the campus laboratory with a duration of 120 to 140 minutes per session. Even though this certification event was held in a short time, students' preparations had started several days beforehand. The final assessment is currently underway, and will determine whether all participants pass or some fail.

This certification is guided by assessors from LSP Media Informatics, who have collaborated with PSTI. The certification process went smoothly with participants completing the tasks given according to procedures. The hope is that students can obtain official certification that is recognized by industry.

Why is this certification important?

One participant, Ayyas, explained that this certification was an important step for students to prove their measurable abilities based on standards recognized by the industry. “This certification provides physical form or data that is recognized by the parties or partners who need it. "Students' abilities become legitimate and accountable, and this is an added point," explained Ayyas.

Participant Impressions and Messages

Several participants shared their experiences in taking this certification. Risma, one of the participants, expressed mixed feelings when taking part in the certification. "Honestly, at first I was confused about how to do it, but after knowing the key, I finally did it," he said. He also added that this activity was quite tiring because the time was short but intense.

Akda, another participant, added that this certification requires high concentration. “This activity is short, concise and very challenging. "But after going through it, I feel satisfied that I was able to finish it well," he said.

Fairuz, another participant, also gave a similar impression. “At the beginning I felt very dizzy, I even felt confused myself. But finally, after going through all the processes, there is a feeling of relief and pride in being able to obtain this certification."

By the end of this certification, students are expected to be able to use the certificates they have obtained to support their future careers, especially in the industrial world which highly values ​​officially tested abilities and competencies.
